A walkoff HR by Mike Jacobs in the 9th gave the Marlins a 5-4 victory over the Pirates.

Home Opener:

  • The Pirates are scheduled to play their first home game of the season Monday afternoon at 1:35 against the Chicago Cubs.
  • The gates to PNC Park will open to the public at 11:30 and all fans in attendance will receive a magnetic schedule, compliments of PNC Bank.
  • The National Anthem will be performed by local rock artist Donnie Iris and God Bless America will be performed by Pittsburgh musician Chris Higbee.
  • Several members of past Pirates championship teams will be on hand to help introduce the entire 2008 Pirates roster and Hall-of-Fame second baseman Bill Mazeroski will throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch.
  • Immediately following the National Anthem will be a flyover of four A-10 Thunderbolts from the 111th Fighter Wing from Willow Grove, PA.
