Paul Hagan from Philly.com speculates on a deal between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies sending outfielder Michael Bourn to the Pirates for Chacon and either Torres or Marte. Bourn's stats at The Baseball Cube show a player similar in stature and ability to Duffy or McLouth. ESPN projects Bourn to be similar to Juan Pierre offensively.
2007 Outlook: He has been compared to Juan Pierre, but he has a bit more power and won't hit a consistent .300 for you. He'll likely start at Triple-A and become a reserve OF in the second half for the Phils. Could be a source of steals down the road.
Bourn looks to be another Duffy/McLouth with more steals and a decent glove. His minor league stats could be confused with either of them. Supposedly he has some power, but has yet to show it at any level. The bright spot is he does show some plate discipline and is 2 years younger than Duffy. The price tag mentioned is fairly steep for a similar player to what we already have. In other words, DL is chomping at the bit to get the deal done.
