Post-Game Notes

The Braves and Mike Gonzalez took out the Pirates 4-1 last night. Zach Duke was pitching well into the 6th. With two outs the Braves were able to put 4 on the board with all runs charged to Duke. Andres Jones and Jeff Francoeur went back to back before Jonah Bayliss was brought in from the pen to allow a run scoring double.

Once again odd plays highlighted the game. A collision between Chipper Jones and Jose Bautista as Bautista fielded the ball. I am still unsure how an out was not called on somebody on that play.

The Pirates lone run was the result of a sac fly by Adam LaRoche with the bases loaded an no one out. Ronny Paulino followed the sac fly with a double play.

The Pirates 3-4-5 hitters went 5 for 9, the rest of the lineup chipped in two hits.

Jason Bay and Ryan Doumit continue their hot play. Bay was 2 for 2 reaching base 4 times. Doumit was 2 for 4 with a double.
