Some teams know when to cut their losses.

Minnesota gets rid of Ponson (2-5,6.93 ERA, 1.88 WHIP). The Pirates keep Armas (0-3, 8.19 ERA, 2.09 WHIP) on the 25 man roster.

The Pirates weaken the bullpen by adding Armas to the mix and taking Chacon out of the one spot he is most valuable.

The Pirates march Wasdin, McLeary and Rogers to Pittsburgh then back to Indy. Sharpless is the latest call up. Maybe calling up a starter, cutting Armas and sending Chacon to the pen would be a step forward.

But who am I to second guess Dave Littlefield? It is a hobby I know, but a blind monkey could do the job he has.
