The Pirates head to St. Louis to start a two game set with warm weather today and tomorrow. Temperatures are expected to be in the 72 degree range.
For all the Pirate players who read my blog, obviously they all do (cough!), it is time to get payback for that three game sweep. The unfortunate thing for the Pirate pitching staff is Albert Pujols has found his swing again.
The pitching match ups look favorable for the Bucs:
Monday RHP IAN SNELL (0-1, 2.08 ERA) vs. RHP ANTHONY REYES (0-1, 5.40 ERA)
Tuesday LHP Tom Gorzelanny (1-0, 1.50 ERA) vs. RHP Adam Wainwright (1-0, 1.98 ERA)
The question is: Will the bats return from a winters hibernation?
LOOK INTO THE TWINKIE:
This story make me hungry just thinking about it. Nothing says love like sodium stearoyl lactylate.
DEAD MAN WALKING:
One more reason not to be Andre.
PENS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD?
The Penguins took home ice away from the Sens Saturday only to return the favor last night.
I was impressed at how the Pens stepped it up on Saturday, but was equally disappointed with Sundays play. This can be expected by a young team making their first appearance in the playoffs together. They now know the level they must play at to win the series.
Lets hope for more games like Saturday.
It looks like the Pirates are set for the next two series against St. Louis and Milwaukee. Today and tomorrow look great for no rain in St Louis. Milwaukee has a dome. A trip to LA LA land follows before coming home for the next rain out against Houston.
The way things have gone for the Pirates, Milwaukee will spring a leak in its dome and cancel the series. Maybe they will move the series to Cleveland?
Started with the Pirates and weather, and ended there. Talk about going full circle.
