RHP Aaron Harang:
Last Pitched:
Tue at StL, started and threw a season-high 7.2 innings to earn the 10-3 victory (7.2ip, 5h, 2er, 1bb, 5k, 121 pitches)...left leading, 8-1, but was charged with another run scored off Stanton...start of the game was delayed 50 minutes by rain.

Red Hots:
His fi rst name is AARON... is making his team-high sixth start of the season...at 3-0 is off to the best start of his career and the best by a Reds pitcher since Bronson Arroyo started last season 5-0...in his previous 5 apps produced 3 quality starts, tied with Lohse and Belisle for second on the staff behind Arroyo’s 4qs...in his 5 starts the Reds went 4-1 and scored 30 runs (6 r/g).

Signed, Sealed, Delivered:
On 2/6 avoided arbitration by signing a 4-year contract extension through the 2010 season with a club option for 2011.

Since he was acquired from the Athletics at the 2003 trading deadline is the Reds’ leader in most statistical pitching categories, including starts (109), victories (44), innings pitched (683.1) and strikeouts (557).

Cy Young:
In 2006 Aaron Harang didn't get a single vote for the Cy Young Award despite leading the National League in strikeouts (216) and complete games (6) and tying for the lead in starts (35) and victories (16)... he is the only pitcher in the 50-year history of that prestigious pitching award to lead his league in both wins and strikeouts and not win it.

Road Warrior:
In 2006 led all National League starters in road wins (9), strikeouts (104) and shutouts (2) and ranked third in road ERA (2.98)...in 2 starts on the road so far this season is 1-0, 5.40 (11.2ip, 7er).

Free Passes:
Has made 85 consecutive starts without walking more than 3 batters (7/19/04 vs Mil, 4bb)...is the third-longest current streak in baseball behind Carlos Silva (97 career starts) and David Wells (89gs)... Harang’s career high for walks in a game is 5 (8/25/02 for Oak at Det)... his single-game career high in 109 starts for the Reds is 4 walks (8/14/03 vs Ari, 9/21/04 vs Atl, 7/19/04 vs Mil).
