RHP BRAD PENNY (3-0, 0.89):
The 28-year-old right-hander, is entering his eighth season in the Majors and fourth with Los Angeles…he is making his 199th career start, 69th start as a Dodger and 201st career appearance
Tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball and picked up his third victory of the season against Arizona…gave up just five hits
Set career highs in 2006 with 16 wins and 33 starts….tied for the NL lead in wins with teammate Derek Lowe, John Smoltz, Carlos Zambrano, Aaron Harang and Brandon Webb…had a career-best winning percentage of .640 COUNTRY HEAT - Became the 10th Dodger to start the All-Star game on July 11, 2006 tossing 2.0 innings and giving up just one hit, a solo homer to Vladimir Guerrero…struck out the side in the first inning (Ichiro Suzuki, Derek Jeter and David Ortiz)
Had a tremendous first half last year, going 10-2 with a 2.91 ERA (35 ER/108.1 IP) in 19 starts prior to the All-Star break…struck out 82 and walked just 29 over that time…went 2-0 with a 2.32 ERA (8 ER/31.0 IP) during five starts last April
Is 3-2 with a 4.18 ERA (24 ER/51.2 IP) in nine career starts against Arizona… went 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA (4 ER/5.0 IP) in one start against the Pirates last season
Is tied for the Major League lead in wins with three and is third in the MLB with a 0.89 ERA
