Post-Game Notes

Opening day was a bit of a let down. The bright spot included another excellent outing from the starting rotation in the form of Ian Snell.

Another good sign is the fact Chris Duffy is batting above the Mendoza line.

Beyond that...

Not many other positives can be taken from the opening day 3-0 loss to Braden Looper and the Cardinals.

BTW Take:
This is the type of game we can get use to throughout the season mixed in with some offensive explosions. I expect a lot of low scoring games where runs will need to be manufactured, something that did not happen today.

The season will hinge on starting pitching, solid defense, stifling bullpen work and manufactured runs.

The lineup is confusing me. Paulino needs to be batting 8th. Bautista has hit well enough he should not be hitting in the 8 hole. Ronny is struggling with the bat. Cota can't through a runner out, so don't look for Paulino to be benched.
